About Me
Hi! My name is Lauren.
I am 33 and am currently working and living in central Florida.
I have a variety of interests including baking, sewing, reading, DIY projects, weight lifting, cruising, cats, and podcasts.
I started this blog in 2012 as a place to share my experience on the Disney College Program. Then, it became the place to share my world travels when I studied abroad on Semester at Sea in the Fall of 2013. It was a four month adventure where I lived on a cruise ship and visit 16 different countries. It was life changing. You can read more about it here or here. I then sailed again in the Spring of 2015. It was a more challenging voyage than the first but that may have made it more enriching. Most of my archived blog posts are about this time.
I now am married, have a daughter, work full time at a place I love, and spend the rest of my time trying to balance all of my other interests while trying to keep my house clean, family fed, and the laundry done.
I have Crohn’s disease. I was diagnosed in 2015 and have worked every day since to figure out how to balance its symptoms with everything I love to do. I have been in remission for many years and am grateful for good health care. I also struggle with anxiety and depression. All three of these things I am comfortable talking about and my virtual door is always open. I think it is important to share our experiences because chronic illness, both mental and physical, can feel so isolating and lonely. You aren’t alone.
I hope my corner of the world brings you some joy and comfort. I find writing about my experiences and sharing them with others leads to such gratifying connection. Never be afraid to say hello.
