Another Week, Another Wedding!!

I have been so blessed to be around such happiness and joy the past two weeks. This wedding I was particularly excited for because she is my mentor and good friend.

We met when I was 8 years old (that's 11 years ago!) when she became the pastor at my church. My parents became good friends with her because my dad was on some committee in the church and so he worked closely with her. We even took ice skating lessons together that year and helped her feel more at home. She became my mentor when I entered high school, letting me come to the church after school so that I could do my homework and not be distracted by the T.V at home. (I was not a very motivated sophomore and junior in high school.)

I was extremely sad when she decided to leave Wapping Community Church at the beginning of my second semester of junior year, although I was also very happy for her because she was promoting herself from Associate Pastor to head honcho/Senior Pastor of her new church. We are all very proud of her. I do miss seeing her very much and I wish she had been there to see me graduate but we still keep in touch.

And today she got married!!

She met Stu on Match.com and they connected very quickly, he proposed four months later!

She was a beautiful bride. I am so happy for her. Congratulations Kristen!!

The other good news is that the happy couple are flying away to Hawaii on Monday and I am house-sitting for them. Conveniently, they live in the same town that I work in (at Lake Compounce.) That means that for the next two weeks my commute goes from 48 minutes to only 8 minutes! Woohoo!! I get to sleep in!!

Ah-hem, anyway, congratulation Kristen, I love you and I wish you the longest Happily Ever After of them all.
