Why Do I Keep Getting the Weirdest Doctors?

I just got back from an urgent care clinic. I went there because my most recent ear piercing is pretty infected and needed to be treated.

I was expecting the antibiotics they gave me.

What I wasn't expecting was the doctor to judge me for how many piercing I have. She actually said the words, "I think you have enough already," after I asked her if I could put the earring back in.

She also told me I should never, ever get it pierced again. Then I said I wasn't planning on getting it re-pierced in the next two weeks but in the far future. And she said that if it was healed and cleaned then maybe... but probably not.

Thanks lady, but it's my life.

I put my earring back in.

This isn't the first time I have had a weird doctor experience. Just a few weeks ago I went to a travel doctor to get all of my shots for my trip abroad.

The nurse barely even spoke to me. She called my name and then lead me to the scale. She just looked at it and then at me.

Do you want me to stand on it?

Words please.

When I went to go put all of my stuff down on the floor she gestured to the chair and said, "You can put it there," in this condescending voice.

You could have told me that, thanks.

When she went to measure me, she was standing in front of the ruler on the wall, so I squeezed to the side. She used the same condescending voice to tell me to stand in front of it.

Then don't stand there yourself!

When we went into the examination room she didn't say anything, just took my blood pressure and my temperature and everything without speaking. Good thing I have been to the doctor before and knew what was going on.

When the actual doctor came in, she was really nice and gave me good information, but she never made eye contact with me.

What.

She wouldn't even make eye contact with me.

It's a good thing the nurse that actually gave me my shots was normal or I would have thought there was something wrong with me.

This better not be a preview of the doctors I go to for the rest of my life.
