Spring 2015 - Day 35: Vietnam

The morning was really leisurely seeing how we spent the majority of the morning sailing up the Saigon river. I got up and was feeling claustrophobic in my room so I went up to the piano lounge to blog in my favorite spot. While I was there I just watched people walk by and yell Good Morning Vietnam. The amount of people yelling it was getting out of hand.

I blogged and blogged until Tory found me and we went to lunch.

It was right when lunch was starting that we docked and they announced the ship was cleared. I still had the plan to spend the whole day blogging because I was really behind and felt like I couldn't enjoy Vietnam until I was done writing about China.

Also, I was absolutely terrified to go out in the city. Everything they had told us about motorbike accidents and people stealing things from you as they drove by really freaked me out. I really didn't want to go out into the city. I felt nice and comfortable on the ship and that is where I wanted to stay.

Eventually everyone trickled off the ship and I was pretty much alone. I blogged all afternoon. Literally all afternoon. Around 2pm I felt like I was pretty close to being done so I thought maybe I would put on a movie but I decided I had to completely finish and then would treat myself to a movie. I didn't finish until 5pm, 3 hours later. It took FOREVER. But it was worth it, I felt so much better when it was all done.

In the evening I had my phone interview and after it was over I celebrated with a cup of noodles and a smoothie because I was just so excited that my phone had connected and worked.

It was a boring day but a good day. And the city looked really pretty at night.

I had to meet the next day at 6:30 for my program to Cambodia. Everyone was going out and I thought they were all crazy. There was no way I would be alive at 6:30 in the morning if I went out. So I packed and slept and was still so tired when I got up.
