Where in the World is Lauren Oates?
This semester has been boring and rough. With a few spots of sunshine thrown in. I have learned that emotions are definitely a roller coaster and that it is amazing how things can change in split second.
For those of you that don't know, I will be spending my fall at sea. If you don't know what Semester at Sea is, have no fear, my next post is going to be all about it. And I promise I will actually post it. Going abroad this fall means that I won't be in Florida for 8 months. I'll be away from my friends, the people I care about most, the people that bring me joy, for a very long time. Because of this I have struggled with the decision to leave but I realize that it is an opportunity that I can not pass up and so I am coming to terms with my absence.
But the future has not arrived yet so now it's time to talk about the past! Here is a run down of everything that has happened since I have last posted.
My sorority competed in a Greek Week dance competition and won. Go Team 80s!
I went on a cruise for spring break with my mom, aunt, and Kellie. We sunbathed, ziplined, snorkled, played bingo way too many times, made cupcakes, and got dressed up a lot. We had a blast.
I went to Disney on Easter weekend with some pretty awesome people. We had a blast then too, volunteering for various things around Hollywood Studios. I got a free cupcake! This is how a went down: I was getting my food and two of the cast member's handed me my tray and then kind of sang "Hip, hip hooray! You've got a magic tray!" My tray was red and apparently that meant a free dessert. Woohoo! Yay magical moments!!
I flew to CT for coaches training for Lake Compounce. My flight was delayed and I ended up spending 5 hours just hanging in the airport. I read a whole book! It was a good book too. It was worth it, training was awesome. I can not wait for the summer.
I received this really awesome card in the mail from my Twin, Rebecca. I was having a bad day and she apparently knew that was going to happen. She rocks.
I spent way too much money on Meet and Greet concert tickets to see the Jonas Brothers this summer. Only a few will know the pain I have experienced trying to see them up until this point. I still don't have high hopes that this will happen. But I am freaking excited.
That's pretty much everything that has happened. Except for random things like this:
Email is very important.
Other than that, I've just been fighting school. And by fighting me I mean that it is beating me down and I've been attempting to beat it back. Finance is hard. But I will win!!
Keep a look out for the post on Semester at Sea.
Till then... :)
