That One Time We Had A Ghost
Our attic door keeps opening on its own. Some people would say that its air pressure coming from up in the attic that is pushing it open. Blah blah blah. No. I know the truth.
We have a ghost.
Her name is Linda. I know her name is Linda because one time Kellie told me she had a sudden feeling that was her name. So that is what we call her.
She's been around for a very long time but hasn't shown herself very recently, except a few days ago when I swear I heard footsteps upstairs but everyone in the house was standing around me.
The first time we thought something fishy was going on was when my mom and I were sitting on the couch and the cat was staring intently with very wide eyes at the wall above our heads. We figured there was just a bug there or something but NO there was not. He seemed pretty freaked but our cat is pretty crazy so we just let it go.
But then a while later we had some family friends over who had some little kids and we were eating in the dining room. The youngest was getting restless at the table so his mom took him into the aforementioned living room. A few minutes later she comes back in and tells us "Jack said we had to leave the living room because she didn't want us there."
SHE. What.
Every other person in the house was sitting in the dining room.
Then there was that time on Halloween that my mom and I were the only ones home and I heard high heeled foot steps walking upstairs from one end of the house to the other.
And the time that we pulled in the driveway and my mom saw a figure get up from the table and walk away before fading.
AND there was the time I was sitting on the computer with a blanket wrapped around me and something brushed against the blanket but I was the only one home.
Conclusion: ghost.
At least she seems nice. Or he I guess. We assume she because of the whole high heeled thing and the she that Jack mentioned. But I guess we shouldn't judge. Don't worry ghost, I'm not judging you, please don't do things to me in my sleep.
Thank goodness these are the only instances. There haven't been things thrown across the room on their own or the sink hasn't turned on in the middle of the night. And I haven't been dragged out of my bed by an unknown force.
This is why I don't watch scary movies.
