Spring 2015 - Day 56
I took an unplanned two and a half hour nap today. Even after Stephanie woke me up and I stumbled to class I felt exhausted. It was that kind of tired that you can feel deep inside you and you know that if you laid down you would fall asleep in seconds.
I don't know why I am so tired, I slept pretty well last night and we gained an hour of sleep so I should not be as tired as I am.
But even though I was so tired I still had fun in class. We worked with charcoal and drew the clouds. Which was interesting because clouds change a lot so my subject disappeared on me half way through. But I love working with charcoal so I really enjoyed it.
Jessi's foot is improving a lot. They decided to drain the giant one today and it ended up not really draining. It was like congealed already and wasn't fluid, even though it looked like it was full of fluid. Gross, I know, but true. But all of the tiny bumps are starting to heal and although it is still swollen it is looking less infected.
She is also able to walk with out the crutches more and more so she should be able to get around fine in India. While we thought Dr. Jeff might be the liaison on our trip he is not, he is on a trip that also goes to the ganges and ours does not. But the nurse, Christine, had Jessi change out the dressings herself so that she can do it on her own in country.
That's the major update for today.
Oh, we had family dinner. We had pizza and cake to celebrate March birthdays and mom bought us candies for Japanese Girl's Day. It was precious. Both Jason and Luke were there! We took a family photo. I love my family a bunch, they are my favorite part of the ship.
I chose to not go to cultural pre-port because I didn't want the views of those speaking to influence my views of India or make me afraid in any way to travel in the country. I will be going to logistical pre-port though, I find that information to be valuable.
Oh, one important thing that I forgot. Today is our halfway point. We are officially half way through the voyage as of today. Freaky, it feels like we just started. We even talked about how the time would fly by once we hit Japan and look at that, it did.
56 days and 5 more countries to go!
