"It's Really Not So Scary..."
This weekend was awesome. But first:
I have been horribly sick this past week. Not fun. Finally I had a fever on Friday so I went to the doctor and it turns out I had the Flu. Super fun. So I got medication and had to call out of work and rest.
The lady said that I would not be contagious by the next day and I really didn't want to miss going to Tampa for my sororities initiation so I decided to brave it anyway even though I still wasn't 100%.
It was totally worth it. I love initiation because it brings me back to why my sorority is the perfect fit for me and why I love it so much.
Initiation pretty much went all day, from 8:30 to about 3:30. Then Rebecca and I got to see our beautiful little Jill in the school play, she was fabulous. I drove home at about midnight so that I could sleep in my own bed.
Then, yesterday, Rebecca met me at my apartment and we went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!!! WOOO!
It was awesome. Not only because the party was awesome but also because New Fantasyland just went into soft opening so we were able to see everything! So exciting.
We went out to dinner first so we didn't get to the party until around 8:30, which was perfect timing because the parade was just coming down Main Street. I was excited to go to the party because I really wanted to see the parade and the fireworks and those ended up being really good reasons.
I would just like to say, BEST. PARADE. EVER. It was so good that we watched the second one two.
Here are some of the most fantastic pictures I took of the parade. The best parts of it were that there were some rare characters in it, I love rare characters. And the music was fantastic.
Minnie! This float had Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy on it, all dressed in their halloween costumes. Mickey as a jester, Minnie a witch, Daisy a princess, and Donald a knight. They were adorable.
RABBIT!! You never get to see Rabbit! Kanga and Roo were on the other side. They were following behind all of the rest of the Pooh characters, who were also adorably dressed up in costumes. Eeyore was the cutest, he was a clown. They also had Christopher Robin with them! You never see him either!!
Captain Hook! Before him were Peter Pan, Wendy and the lost boys and behind him was a really cool ticking crocodile float. Mr. Smee was with him on the ship.
Pain and Panic! From Hercules, if you didn't know. They were on a float that had a ghost band playing instruments on it. You never see Pain and Panic either. Seriously, I love rare characters.
The pictures have now changed perspective because these are from the second parade.
Yes, the dog is real, and he was an excellently trained dog. This guy is from The Haunted Mansion. He's the scared guy that you see right outside the graveyard that is at the end of the ride after you go backwards down the hill.
Fun Fact: Do you know the reason why he looks so scared on the ride? It's not because he's outside of a graveyard. If you remember the ride, you are in the attic of the house right before you turn and go backward down the hill and pass in front of this guy. He's scared because you have just fallen out of the attic window and died, and are passing by him as a ghost. He's scared of you!
How cool is it that they had a whole Haunted Mansion section of the parade? They even had the hitchhiking ghosts.
This was my favorite part of the parade. These guys were in the haunted mansion section. They were grave diggers and carried with shovels. They danced with the shovels, and hit them against each other, before hitting on the ground and scraping them, creating sparks. It was a very cool effect. I'm super impressed I caught this picture, especially since it was on my phone.
This is Jarfar, he got all up in my face. I was sitting so it was actually kind of creepy. He was in the Villain section which also included Cruella DeVille, The Sheriff of Nottingham, Frollo, The Queen of Hearts. They were followed by a float that had Dr. Facilier, Malicifent, and the Evil Queen.
I was really impressed my Dr. Facilier, mostly because the guy who is friends with him is ridiculously tall. I mean crazy tall, his legs were so long. I saw him backstage and my jaw dropped cause he was just so tall.
This is what ended the parade. The in park candy company is Goofy's Candy Co. So they had people handing out candy to everyone watching the parade. Goofy brought up the end on his own float. I got a lollipop. It was delicious.
That is the end of my parade re-cap. There is way more in there, I didn't even talk at all about the Hoedown section with the cowboys. Or Captain Jack Sparrow. Oh hold on, I need to tell you about Jack Sparrow. The guy who plays him is very good at it. Apparently he never ever wears the hat and the jacket at the same time. If you ever see the Jack Sparrow in that parade wearing both the hat and the jacket, that means that its Johnny Depp. Yes, there is a rumor that once a year Johnny Depp comes to the park and plays Captain Jack in the parade. Since it a rumor it has never been confirmed, and no one has proof. But I like to think its true because, uh, that would be awesome.
Now my recap is over. If my description of the awesomeness has made you want to see the parade well then you should come visit me before November 2nd when the parties end. And if you can't come to visit me, which is fine, here is a awesome video of the whole parade:
The restaurant will be a quick service restaurant during the day and a table service restaurant at night.
We did Enchanted Tales with Belle, which was cool and very intricate. I was crazy impressed by the whole thing.

Pretty picture of Prince Eric's castle:
From inside the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride:
New Fantasyland was super impressive. I am most impressed by how it looks on the outside and the two restaurants. Gaston's Tavern and Be Our Guest Restaurant. I am so excited to eat at both of those places. We also didn't go into Ariel's Grotto, where you can meet Ariel, and apparently it is is beautiful in there. I can't wait to go back during the day.
To wrap up, here is a very dark picture of Rebecca and I in front of the castle:
And I took this picture of Main Street, which I think looks so cool.
Happy Halloween!!

Now, onto New Fantasyland pictures. So, if you don't want to know about New Fantasyland, you should stop reading. :)
Pretty, lit up Beasts castle:
This is the inside of Be Our Guest Restaurant, it is designed to look like the ballroom. I think they nailed it.
The restaurant will be a quick service restaurant during the day and a table service restaurant at night.
We did Enchanted Tales with Belle, which was cool and very intricate. I was crazy impressed by the whole thing.
