HARRY POTTER AWESOMENESS!!!
Today was the greatest day ever. We went to the Warner Bros.
Studio and toured the Harry Potter set.
I took five hundred and eight five photos
and I’m not even sorry. We saw sets like Dumbledore’s office, the potions
classroom, the Gryffindor common room, the Ministry of Magic, Hagrid’s hut and
the Burrow.
There were hundreds of props to look at from wands to the
Horcruxes to the trunk that Mad Eye Moody was held captive in for all of book
four.
We saw the knight bus and number four Private Drive and the
Potter’s house complete with the gaping hole in the second floor made by
Voldemort’s killing curse.
There were costumes from every single movie as well as wigs and make up and teeth.
We saw the prosthetics used for everything from goblins to
ogres to Voldemort’s eyebrows.
I got to ride a broom!
We got to see the huge scale model of Hogwarts that they
used to film most of the exterior shots. It was gorgeous. It was built in 2000
for the first movie and things were added to it as needed, like the bridge for
The Prisoner of Azkaban and the Owlry for Goblet of Fire. The whole thing was
breath taking.
It was all very surreal, it still felt like I was looking at
replicas, not the exact props and sets and costumes that had been used by the
cast and crew.
And I got some of the best souvenirs!
My favorite are the coins. A galleon, a sickle, and a knut, just like they have in the movie. So very cool.
The rest of the pictures I will post on Facebook at some point!
Tomorrow we are off to South Hampton, where I will board the boat on Saturday.
