Day 86

Today I had the worst wake up call ever.

It's a study day. A day for sleeping in.

I did not get to sleep in.

I woke up to the sound of something happening in the hallway. It was annoying, why were they doing something so loud in the hallway so early? I decided to block it out and go back to sleep but first I reached to the bottom of my bed and pulled my blanket up and grabbed my sweatpants and put them on.

When I went to lay back down I felt wetness. On both my pants and my blanket. "Oh no," I thought, "Something spilled."

I grabbed my phone, turned the flashlight on and pointed it to the foot of the bed.

Then I gasped. Really loudly.

Jessi must have been awake because she asked, "what?"

"Something is leaking in our room."

"What!?"

There was giant puddle of something on the floor of our room. Right in the middle. And right under a whole bunch of my stuff. That is when I made the connection that the loud noise coming from the hall was vacuuming. I opened the door to find at least 4 people from housekeeping cleaning the carpet. It was coming from our bathroom. Our toilet and/or shower was leaking.

"It's in our room too." I told them.

I looked at the clock. It was 8.

Rey came in and told us to pick up all of our stuff so that they could clean it. He suggested we go to breakfast and that we sleep in the room across the hall tonight. I put everything that was wet in the shower. It was digesting and brown. It was on my blanket, my backpack, and some books. But it was just brown water, Rey picked up some socks with his bare hands and squeezed them out, and it didn’t smell. Well, it smelled a little.

Today was also laundry day and my one bra that I had left out of the laundry had gotten wet, so both jessi and I got to go braless to breakfast.

We were both not happy at all. After breakfast we went to Tymitz square and asked Dean Eddie what we should do. He  brought us to the pursers desk and had them get us temporary keys to the room across the hall for overnight.

He told us that they would find out what happened and we would be able to know if it was our fault or not, which I really didn’t think it was.

We went back down to our room, which now had giant blowers in it in order to dry it out. Rey was there and told us that a hose had burst and flooded. It wasn't our fault.

We grabbed some stuff that we wanted and went into our new room across the hall. It is set up exactly the same so it was weird. It was exactly like our room except there was no window, there is a third bed folded up on the wall, and none of our stuff is there.

Our door has been propped open all day. Literally anyone could go in there and steal our stuff. Jessi even overhead some girls walk by and say that exact thing. She yelled at them. I took most of my valuables out but everything is valuable.

Not a good day.

At least we had taco night.

In the evening our door was closed by someone and it absolutely reeked in there. Jessi and I were not happy and decided we needed to talk to someone about it. We tried to find Dean Eddie but it was late enough that his office was closed, so we decided to go to Nathan. We knocked on his door and talked to him about the issue, which he didn’t even know had happened.

He said that he would talk to Dean Eddie about us potentially moving permanently into the other room.

He came back a while later and said that he hadn't been able to find Dean Eddie and so had no update but will work on it tomorrow.

I just want my room back.

Worst day ever.
