Spring 2015 - Day 81: South Africa

Today was a wine tour. It was long and involved a lot of drinking so I didn't write about it at the time and then I was emotionally drained and didn't feel like going back and writing about it. So now it is more than a year later and the writers blog has led me to this point. Mostly everything from this point on is written, so to get past this hurdle I will use mostly pictures to tell you about Day 81:

Our wine tour consisted of stops at two wineries, with a stop for lunch in the middle, and then dinner.

This was the flight from our first stop. They paired each of the drinks with a chocolate. You would take a bite of chocolate, hold it in your mouth, and then take a sip of the wine. It was amazing how they complimented each other and tasted wonderful together.

This was the flight from our second stop. Much simpler. I didn't like the wine as much at this place than the first. I wanted to buy some wine to ship home to give as gifts, but it turned out to be insanely expensive. In fact, they didn't even really ship to the states.

At the second winery we bought a bottle of champagne to share.

Hugh joined in and we toasted the day!

The place we went to for dinner was fabulous. Unlike every other program I have ever been on all of the alcohol was included. So we drank our fair share. We laughed, joked, ate great food, and were a little too loud. It all ended up with me taking this selfie with Hugh. Best. Professor. Ever.

Overall, I really great day. We had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed spending the day with Jessi, Jen, and Phillip. We laughed a lot and that is my favorite thing to do. Who knew that all you needed to do was add a bunch of wine.
