Spring 2015 - Day 82: South Africa
Today was one of those days where it’s the last day in port so you don’t want to waste it but there isn't really much to do so you just randomly find things to do.
We went shopping and had lunch at Gourmet Boerie again. It was just so delicious and they had such good wifi. I was able to fix my phone while we were there! I don’t know if I mentioned this but when I got off the phone with my mom I put it back in airplane mode and it errored out. It said that my phone needed to be activated. When I unlock it it wanted me to active it but I can’t because I don't have service or wifi. And I couldn't connect to iTunes because my computer doesn’t have wifi either.
So when we went to the restaurant and got real wifi I was able to reactivate it using Itunes. Basically my phone lost track of itself and so bricked itself because it thought it was stolen. That’s what I get for connecting to cell networks in so many different countries.
We also got an email about a change in voyage leadership. It stated that Professor Daphne Spain will assume the role of academic dean and Mark Thomas would be leaving for personal reasons. Guess the rumors really were true.
We got back to the ship in plenty of time. But not everyone made it back. Actually two girls missed the ship on purpose because Zayn had just left One Direction and they were performing their first concert without him in South Africa. WOW. Just wow.
Sometimes I wonder about people’s priorities.
