20th Birthday Fun

My very best friend and roommate Kellie turned 20 last week. We like to celebrate in appropriate college style. By going to Disney of course!

We spent her entire birthday in Hollywood Studios, she got a birthday button and got to do what ever she wanted all day long. We saw almost every show, going from The Little Mermaid, to Lights, Motors, Action, Extreme Stunt show, to American Idol. We also hit Rockin Roller Coaster and Toy Story Mania. We got lucky because Toy Story was closed in the morning but eventually opened up. We ate breakfast at a newly discovered Cafe and had lunch at Pizza Planet where Kellie indulged on a Chocolate Mocha cupcake.

My plan when we got to the park was to buy a balloon and write Happy Birthday on it so that Kellie could carry it around all day and get a bit more attention. But, I could not find balloons anywhere. Usually there are people walking around everywhere with huge bunches of balloons but we went the whole day with out seeing them. We saw people with balloons, balloons tied to strollers, and children playing with them but no where could we find anybody actually selling them. Finally, around 6 when we were on our way to buy carmel apples, Kelicy spotted them. She took Kellie to get the apples and I bought a balloon. It was a mickey shaped balloon inside a giant clear sphere and there was a light inside of it that blinked. Definitely the coolest balloon I had ever bought.

Since the park closed at 7 we made late dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant, Olivia's at Old Key West Resort.

We made Kellie bring the balloon inside with her to the restaurant, of course. Our waiter was extremely cute and funny and made our dining experience much more enjoyable.

We ate a lot of delicious bread. The bread at Olivia's is the most delicious tropical bread I have ever eaten, we took a few loves of it home too. I had ordered a cake, of course, so after dinner our waiter, Jonathan, brought it out and got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to Kellie. Check it out:

The cake was chocolate and shaped like Mickey Mouse. The icing was extremely fudgy and the face was made out of white chocolate. It was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten.

We took a picture with out waiter so that we would always remember how awesome he was. We also left him a very good tip.

I had way too much fun celebrating Kellie's birthday so I hope she had just as much fun. Going to Disney for your birthday definitely makes it extra special. If only my birthday wasn't in the middle of the summer, when I am nowhere near Disney
