Happy New Year!!

IT IS 2012!!

Where has the year gone?! It feels like yesterday we were celebrating the beginning of 2011. This holiday season has been blessed with seeing friends that I adore and spending precious time with family that I love.

This Christmas was our first christmas without my grandpa, as he died in February. So we decided to switch up our routine so that we would not focus on the fact that he was not with us. Being with family and friends was enough that Christmas Day was still a celebration.

I spent New Years Eve with a few close friends, and that was enough. We use that night to reunite and catch up each year only to realize that we haven't really changed all that much. It is a comforting notion.

Now here we are, the first day of the New Year. Most people have a number of resolutions to begin this day. Either written, on a sticky note, in a note book, or on their phone, or maybe they just stay up in their head.

They always seem to be the same don't they? Lose weight, eat healthier, save more money, spend more time with family, or stop smoking/drinking. This year, mine are simple: stop worrying about the little things, cherish those that mean the most to me, be happy and enjoy life, no matter where it takes me.

I am in a fantastic spot right now. I'm enjoying school, I have no debts, I have fabulous friends, and I am young. Life can go in any direction and I am so excited to see where that will be.

2012 holds many things to look forward to. This semester is full of interesting classes, a spring break at Disney World, and my best friend turning 20. I am looking forward to another entertaining summer working at Lake Compounce, which also includes my 20th birthday and I am planning to go through The Disney College Program next fall.

That is only 6 things that I am sure of, the rest of the year is up in the air.

Oh, I have one last resolution: Take up all opportunities and go on more adventures.

I hope all of you have not dropped your resolutions already and that you will be successful in your endeavors. Here's to a fabulous and enchanting 2012, my last 6 months of being a teen and my first 6 of being in my twenties. How scary is that! I'm excited!
