My First Day and a Half in Connecticut Was a Fail. Ok, Not a Complete Fail.
So... I worked really hard to get home this weekend. This weekend was opening day for Lake Compounce and I really, really wanted to be there. Plus, Colleen is graduating on Sunday and with there only being three of us, me not being here would leave Michael alone.
But, my Law final was scheduled for Friday at 1. That combined with my twenty two hour drive home was not conducive to being home on Saturday morning for work. So I pulled strings! And managed to move my final until monday at 2. Huzzah!
My mom flew down on Wednesday, we packed my car and took off on Wednesday night. We got home on Friday at about 4.
The first thing I did:
MAKE CUPCAKES!!
I promised my team members cupcakes. So I made them and I think they turned out pretty fancy.
Plus, they are rainbow.
If that looks like it is tedious, that's because it is. But it was totally worth it. Cause LOOK AT HOW AWESOME.
I can not wait for someone to eat one so that I can see what the inside looks like.
After I made cupcakes I got all ready for work the next morning. I set everything I needed to bring with me out. I was so excited!!
I woke up on Saturday morning, showered and got dressed and was downstairs eating my breakfast at 7:45am, just casually scrolling through Facebook on my phone, when I got the worst news ever.

THIS RUINED MY WHOLE DAY!!
I was in distress to the extent that my mom was like what is wrong with you?!
No one should ever want to work that badly but I totally do.
My best friend even texted me and said "Hi!! Sowey you couldn't work today."
See! It is common knowledge that I love work.
The majority of team members on Facebook were upset about this as well. I found this to be the most appropriate reaction:
I agree with your sentiments Adam, and thank you for making me laugh hysterically this morning.
The good news was that no work meant that everyone was free too. Cue food and movies!!
Some of us met at Applebee's for lunch and then went to see The Great Gatsby, which was freaking amazing.
We ended up with this beauty:
I love the second one, I look all pale and whimsical.
I am seriously obsessed with photo booth pictures. Especially the photo booth in that specific theatre because a lady talks to you and goes 3, 2, 1, POSE! and then there is a really long pause followed by SMILE! and then it takes the picture. We pose on pose and then can never hold it that long!!
But that makes it awesome. And my day was awesome because I am back home amongst the coolest people ever.
I'm still upset that work today did not exist but there is the whole summer, right?
