Spring 2015 - Day 67 (March 15th)
For the past few days there have only been bananas for the fruit at all the meals. They have been so over ripe they are almost uneatable. The ship is now clearly trying to get rid of their bananas because last night for dinner there was banana bread for dessert and today for the lunch the soup was chilled banana soup. I'm pretty sure it was just pureed bananas. But at least the fruit had switched to oranges.
In the evening we had family game night. Which was a great idea in theory but was not executed well because everyone had midterm exams and papers that they were working on and didn't feel like they could get away from. So out of our family of 15 there were only 7 of us there at one point.
Jessi came and brought bananagrams. We played two games until she decided she needed to go back to homework. Bananagrams is like scrabble except you race. It's a lot of fun.
After Jessi left we switched to playing Skip Bo. Skip Bo is a lot like Uno except want to get rid of the cards in your draw pile instead of the ones in your hand.
I had a lot of fun playing cards with mom and my sisters. It was relaxing and good to laugh and have fun.
When I got back to my room after game night Stephanie was studying for our world mythologies exam tomorrow. Can you guess how much I have studied for that? The answer is less than zero. But she told me the stories of a bunch of myths. In our discussion sections yesterday Willa said that all we needed to know was the hermeneutical tools and then 4 or 5 myths. So since I learned the hermeneutical tools in the discussion sections and then Stephanie told me a bunch of myths, I now feel pretty good about the exam.
Tonight we go back 30 minutes. So now we will be on the hour again. We are only eight hours apart now. The gap continues to close!
