Spring 2015 - Day 68
My exam today was rough. Well, the test wasn't rough. I actually felt pretty good about all the answers I gave. I just wrote them incredibly quickly because I felt like I was going to puke the entire time. The ship has returned to being rocky. It hasn't been this rocky for so long I can't even remember the last time. Our exam was in the Union, which is the absolute worst place on the ship when it is rocking.
I was one of the first people to hand in my blue book and just told the TA that I needed to be done or I was going to throw up. As I headed back to my room I could feel it rising up. Luckily I didn't actually get sick. But I had to lay on my bed in the pitch dark for a very long time until the nausea passed.
Then I realized I was pretty hungry but lunch looked absolutely disgusting and my stomach rolled just looking at it. So I went up to deck 7 and got a smoothie and french fries.
At dinner I ate an orange and that is when everything started going downhill even further. The orange tasted great but it was the most acidic orange I think I have ever eaten. My throat burned so badly and never stopped.
When I laid down to go to sleep it got almost unbearable. I couldn't swallow. It was like the back of my mouth and throat were on fire. I got up to try and do something to remedy the situation. I brushed my teeth and gargled some water. Then I hacked up a loogie that had blood in it. Fantastic.
I laid back down and it felt a little better but my throat was still on fire. It was not a good night.
