Just When I Thought Life Was Getting Boring...

As you can tell, I haven't been blogging much lately. This is because I have kind of gotten into a routine and nothing too spectacular happens from day to day. I don't really like to stretch for things to blog about and so I kept being disappointed with how boring life seemed to be getting.

But never mind. BECAUSE I GOT TO RIDE SPACE MOUNTAIN WITH THE LIGHTS ON!

I felt that that was exciting enough that it deserved all caps.

For those of you that don't know, Space Mountain is a dark roller coaster in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. You board a rocket and go on a adventure filled with twists, turns, and sudden drops. All in the dark. I mean really dark, you can't see anything in there. That why, even though the ride only goes a max of 27 miles an hour, it feels a lot faster.

As you can imagine, seeing the ride with the lights on is a pretty rare thing. The lights only go on once the park is closed, and if the ride goes down. Of course, if the ride is down, no one is riding it. But, The People Mover, a slow moving ride, goes right through the Space Mountain building. When the ride is running you can barely see the cars zoom by in the dark.

I have been on the people mover twice when the ride was not operational and the lights were on. It makes it look like a tangled mess of metal.

On Wednesday one of our leaders surprised us with riding Space Mountain, with the lights on, after the park was closed and we had finished our closing duties. I don't think we have ever re-stocked and cleaned a store so fast. We were freaking out. Riding Space Mountain with the lights on!! WHAT!! No one gets to do that.

As soon as we were done, we went onto the ride through the regular wait line. The lights were on and all of the screens were turned off, which was eery. There were food cast members there too, it was a land wide celebration of being awesome!! My new best friend Ben and I were the first two people in line.

It was so surreal to go on the ride with the lights on. Just when it set off, we were freaking out because it just felt so weird.

Ben took a video of the whole ride. So, if you would like to experience it second hand you can go here.

We planned our ride photo all out but when we got off the ride the monitors were off. We were very sad but we were pretty sure that it had taken the picture because it had flashed. So, on Thursday, I was working images so I went back through them and found the pictures. Best. Ride. Photo. Ever.

That was definitely an experience of a life time. I felt like I was a little kid again, that's how excited I was. I am STILL excited about it and it has been over for two days. GAH!

Here are some other interesting things that have been going on:

On one of the party nights, there was a guy dressed as Thor. I swear that Chris Hemsworth snuck into the park and hid in plain sight. You'll agree:

 Seriously perfect.

Angie and I went to Animal Kingdom one day and got caught in the rain. It was still tons of fun.

So, lots of things are happening, my life is not boring at all! Hopefully more fun things will happen so that I can tell you about them. Tonight I am working another Halloween party and my partner is Ben so I am pretty excited. We will probably sing more Disney songs.

Woo!
