Day 17
I slept like a baby last night. I had a massive headache and so went bed at 22:00 and slept for 12 hours. Traveling is exhausting. Although I am not complaining.
When we are on the ship we all seem to be overly tired. Even Laurie, the nurse practitioner said that she was about to diagnose herself with chronic fatigue syndrome because she wants to sleep all the time. I nap way too often. We all nap way too often.
In contrast, when we are in country we all seem to have unlimited energy. We stay up late, get up early and are able to make it through the entire day of adventures. When we get back on the ship, we all crash. Hopefully we can keep up this cycle for another 98 days. It really is true when they say that SAS is four months without a weekend.
We are just at sea, so there is nothing interesting to report. I went to class, wrote some stuff, read some stuff, registered as an overlander because I will not be on the ship between Antwerp and Le Havre, and I ate ice cream at our sea meeting.
Sea meeting? What is that? All of our halls are broken into groups and assigned to seas and a RD (Resident Director). We are in the Aegean Sea. Poor Jessica and me were jostled around sea wise and so now we pretend we are in both so we get all the perks, like ice cream. Although we only get the emails from Nathan so I guess we are technically in the Aegean Sea. We use are seas for roommate issues and other issues and basic questions. We will also use our seas for Sea Olympics later in the semester. Go Aegean Sea!
Tomorrow is more class, and more homework and not much else. We get to Belgium very soon but will not be able to get off the ship until the scheduled time. This is what happens when we are in Europe where the ports are so close together.
If anything exciting happens, I will let you know!
