Day 37
THEY HAVE HUMMUS!
We may have actually won the scavenger hunt?
I got attacked by pirates in the dining hall.
Well, not really. They were making balloon animals for the kids and two of them had swords, were sword fighting, and so attacked us when we walked out.
On the adorable kid note:
On the way to dinner was of the little kids was pretending to be a bear and his dad was walking in front of him warning people that there was a bear loose. So cute.
The hummus thing was the most exciting part of the day. I went up the dining room to meet Molly for lunch and found they they had pita bread and hummus. So delicious. That is all I had for lunch. I hope they have it more often.
During lunch Molly and I decided that a good activity would be to get massages.
Today was a transit day so we didn't have class. We didn't have any obligations.
So we went up to the spa, discovered that they were having a special on massages, and scheduled them for 16:00.
We then settled into the piano lounge, I finished my Portugal blogs while she read. When I was done we played Skip-Bo. Which we have in our game closet at home but I have never played. It is fun, you have to get rid of all your cards but can only put them down in order and you have to discard. I am explaining this horribly.
It is a really hard game to win because you always have to pick up cards so getting rid of them takes forever.
We played for over an hour and a half and never finished a game.
My massage was fantastic, although I still have a cold so breathing with my face in the hole was difficult, but I made it work.
It was 80 minutes, which was heavenly. I had huge knots in both my shoulders and now they hurt from her massaging them so much. Totally worth it though.
Dinner was peanut butter and jelly for me. And the carrot and sweet potato soup they had. Yum.
It was at dinner that Jessica told me that someone had called our room looking for me and told her that I had won the scavenger hunt and gave a room number for me to go to so that I could get my prize.
Wait, what? We definitely came in second. I haven't gone to the room yet, but I know whose room it is and she was on my team. Did we all win? I'm confused.
Guess I will just have to go there and find out.
At 20:00 they showed a movie, I just got back from it. Molly and I ran up to the seventh deck pool bar and got popcorn. The movie was Mud. It came out this year and stars Matthew McConaughey.
It was good, but a bit confusing. It was just one of those movies that left you with more questions than answers.
And one of the characters was named Neckbone. That was his actual name. Molly and I decided that my new name is Fingernail because I wanted a cool name too.
Weird movie. But it had a good climax. The kid got bit by a snake and then the bounty hunters saw him and shot up the house and then you didn't know if he lived or died. Intense.
You know what is really weird. The fact that tomorrow we will be in Spain. I'm used to three days between countries. This is too fast for me. I'm not ready.
I am going to Gibraltar though.
It's an entirely different country so I get to bump my countries visited list up to 15.
It's literally a rock, covered in wild monkeys. There is more there then a rock, but the rock takes up most of it, its a teeny tiny country. The country is territory of England. They speak british and their currency is pounds. And they have wild monkeys.
Wild. Monkeys.
Bring it on Spain.
