Day 111

I got up at 4 this morning.

We all got up at 4. And by all I mean quite a few people.

We got up so that we could paint the flags of the countries that we went to on our backs and take pictures out on deck 7.  We wanted to take the pictures during sunrise and it took about two and a half hours to actually paint the flags. There was only 6 people in our group of friends that wanted to do it so we combined with another group so that we could do all 16 flags.

We also did it so early in the morning because it requires us to all be topless. Woo, scandalous.

We had met the night before at 9 to coordinate what we were going to wear on the bottom, who had the paint, what classroom we were meeting in and at what time, and who was going to have what flag.

We had emailed with Dean Eddie to partially get permission and partially find out where to paint and what time the sunrise was.

We ended up being the most organized group out of all of them. When we got to classroom 9 there were a few girls in there who saw our paint and said that most of their girls had gone back to sleep because they hadn't come up with enough paint. Isn't that the first thing you need to do this? We told them that we would share.

Everyone who walked in freaked out because it looked like it was pouring rain out because they were washing the decks.

Girls would lay on the ground on their stomachs for us to paint them. We started with the countries that had complicated things on their flags like Spain, Portugal, America, Argentina, Morocco and Brazil. We did the base colors so that they could dry so that we could do the detail. As we worked more and more girls filled the room doing the same thing. But our flags were looking fantastic compared to theirs. We actually drew squares and had defined other borders. We didn’t want them to cover our whole backs because your shoulders distort it when you stand up and move.

Some of the other groups were just throwing the paint on there and smearing it around with a sponge. On one girls Moroccan flag the star wasn’t in the middle. It was a got mess. We got there first and were the last ones done. Our looked fantastic.

There was a female security guard pacing back and forth outside the door of the classroom. It retrospect it may have been to prevent people from walking in on us but at the time she was just absolutely annoying. At one point she came in and told us that sunrise was significantly earlier than we thought it was, then she told us that it actually was raining. She made us all pick a leader and they had to go out and pick the order that we were going to take pictures in.

I must admit that I have an existing dislike for her because she is the one that yelled at me for my hammock.

We were finally done around 7 and went up to deck 7 on the port side.

I took pictures with another group too because I was the Bahamian flag and they did not enough girls to have one.

They only did a few poses and decided they were done, which we found weird. We wanted to take a million.

And we did take a million. We took so many that the security guards had to make us stop because another group was ready to go. So we went onto the other side of the ship to take more pictures. The security guards were so busy with the groups that they didn’t even notice that we were over there.

It was also better because the sun was actually on that side of the ship so we were able to have it rising behind us.

They came out absolutely fantastic, I love them. It was totally worth getting up at 4.

When we were done Molly and Lillian decided that they wanted to take random pictures around the ship shirtless. So we did. We took one in the elevator, two in a classroom, some where they were vacuuming in the hallway, them in their room wearing their life jackets and another kitting.

They thought it was way funnier than it was.

The rest of the morning consisted of a nap. Followed by lunch, which was followed by an afternoon of doing nothing but homework.

I finished all of by bio journals and ocean observations. After dinner Molly and I did our test for Psychology. That was interesting. There was a question that wasn’t even a question. It just said, "What do you think this person is doing."

Sure… That is plenty for me to go on.

Molly was getting sicker and sicker as the day progressed. By the time we were doing our test she was constantly blowing her nose and one of her eyes was running uncontrollably. It was not good, the alumni ball is tomorrow. I forced her to go to bed soon after that and I too was in bed by 10. None of us had gotten much sleep the past few days and that was definitely contributing.

Sleep was so nice, I had struggled doing homework all day, I was so tired. But now all I have left is my bio final and I am completely done with all school work!
