Final Day of Training - Photo Fun!
Today was my very last day of training, which means that I was imaging trained. This means that I was taught how to process and print the ride photos of people coming off Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear.
Very awesomely, the photos were down for the first two hours of training. Turns out that it is a bit hard to be image trained when the images are not there. But my trainer was awesome and we made it work.
I learned about how to find a guests photo when they don't have their number, how photo pass plus works, and how to work at preview. There is a position where all you do is stand inside Space Mountain where guests come off the ride and write down their photo numbers for them. Apparently it is one of the most boring jobs in the department because you are standing alone for a long period of time but it seemed awesome to me! Guest reactions coming off the ride are priceless and some of the photos are hilarious. I guess standing there for three hours would eventually become tiring because it is dark and loud, quite a sensory overload. But it seems like such a guest interaction heavy place that I am looking forward to my first time working down there - maybe my opinion will change after my first three hours.
Working Space Mountain photo in the store is a lot harder because the ride has two different tracks and many people who do not know their number also do not remember which side of the ride they came off of. So, finding their picture takes a while. It can also get pretty hectic in there. At Buzz photo you are with the guest through the whole transaction but at Space once you print the photo you hand it off to another cast member who rings them up. I didn't like that as much but it was manageable after we got a groove.
I think imaging is going to be my favorite, it seems really interactive and fun.
I also learned some of the awesome lingo that we get to use as part of the show. For example, when it is time for us to go on break we say that it is time to go feed Stitch. I think it is adorably cleaver! Love it!
Tomorrow I am working on my own with out a trainer and I already know that I am going to be in Zone 1, which means I will be inside in either Mickey Star Traders or Merchants of Venus. I'm still a bit nervous but I feel a lot more comfortable after today.
I also got a bit more mail when I got home! Woohoo! I got two more postcards from my parents from when they were in San Francisco. I also got the Lily stuff that I ordered. A new phone case, which I desperately needed, my Mickey one is falling apart, and a planner.
I love Lilly, they are so pretty. My phone case is my sorority print so now it matches my bag, love it. And I love mail. :)
The roomies and I are going grocery shopping tonight, something that is desperately needed. We are out of almost everything. I am dying without fruit.
Tomorrow I don't work until 2:15 so some sleep is going to feel good, then I am off. Gah!
