Free Day Fun!

Today was my free day this week, but that does not mean it wasn't awesome. I got up at 8 and went to the gym with my roomie. The gym is small but is walking distance and and has enough stuff to work with. Hopefully I will go there often.

After the gym we went to the first housing event. It was a Mad Hatter Tea Party. There was food - Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets.

There was also tie dying. I was actually pretty excited about that because I had a shirt to tie dye. In february of 2011 I missed my sororities bid day because I had to go home for my grandfathers funeral. During bid day they tie dyed shirts with the new girls. When I got back  to campus I received one of the shirts but it was just white. I now had an opportunity to tie dye it finally!

I like the way it turned out. They only had spray tie dye so it wasn't as thorough as when you dip it. It was fun to do though!

After I tie dyed my shirt we got to meet some characters. When we first got into line Mary Poppins and Mr. Penguin was there.

Mary Poppins was beautiful, she is one of my favorite face characters. I love the dress she wears, as well as her shoes and umbrella. Love her, but she eventually left and was replaced my Alice and the Mad Hatter.

The guy who was the Mad Hatter was phenomenal, I was very impressed by him. It was fun to just watch him interact with the different groups of people that went up there. He would have them pose differently, like they were drinking tea. He even sat on the ground with one group. Tons of fun.

We left after we met the characters because we wanted to go to the pool in our complex for the first time. Going to the pool makes me feel like I am living at a resort, it is gorgeous.

We spent about an hour there, and I kinda got a tan. If you can believe that, I barely can. But then a spontaneous Florida storm rolled in and we had to leave.

I decided to go to the mall because my computer charger died and I needed a new one but also because I need specific shoes for work. I needed black, polishable, no-slip, lace-up, athletic shoes with no visible logo or stitching. So, they literally don't exist.

Oh, don't get me wrong, completely black sneakers exist, but ALL of them have logos on the side. I went to a bunch of stores at the outlet mall down the street and then went to two other malls before I found a pair with a teeny tiny logo in sears. This is what I ended up with:

I am still not even sure if they are ok because I am still not clear on what not visible stitching means. Guess I will find out if they are ok or not of Friday at my first day of training.

Tomorrow I have Traditions, my very first day of work. I will be receiving my name tag and my ID badge. I'm super excited.
