Register Training and Rockin' Roller Coaster

This is going to be a long post. Two days in one! Woohoo!

Yesterday I had a class at Disney University. It was elab for Merchandise, and the first part was not all that exciting but the second was pretty awesome. The first was just doing online classes. I learned about meal plans, and procedures for helping guests with disabilities. They were interesting, just time consuming, I did learn a lot. Then, after lunch, we had the real merchandising class.

Merchantainment!! Woohoo! We learned the basics of register. They actually had a room full of 15 working registers for us to practice on and a bunch of merchandise and play money to use. It was a lot of fun.

It was also really interesting to learn their POS system. Most of what we learned I already knew, I was just learning their way of doing it. I am so lucky that I have a solid background in register, it is going to make my life so much easier. Especially because I understand how mistakes can be fixed. I am excited to get to work and actually use the system.

After the class I went to the grocery store and bought myself a rotisserie chicken for dinner. It made me feel so grown up! I was wearing my business professional clothing and this is the awesome conversation I had with the guy behind the deli counter when I got my chicken:

Guy: Did you just get off work?

Me: Yes I did.

Guy: Well I am so glad I was able to cook you dinner tonight.

Me: Me too. Thank you!

Guy: Have a great evening.

Me: You too.

Completely made my day! Love it!

I then went home and made that chicken into chicken salad, and then I ate it. Yum!
.   .   .

Today I went back to Tampa to visit all of my loves! I needed to go back to the storage unit to clean it out so that we wouldn't have to pay again for September.

Angie came with me; we braved the potential hurricane and drove the hour drive. We made it successfully but as soon as we drove onto campus I did not feel safe anymore. There were cops everywhere, I felt like we were trespassing. They are all stationed there because of the RNC, they are at the doors to every building and pretty much every where else. You need a green lanyard to be on campus and we didn't have those so we decided to go to lunch first.

We went to Frankie's, which is a fantastic burger place that is just off campus. Its quick, cheap, and delicious.

Since I am attempting to live a healthy lifestyle, and am succeeding so far, I am planning on letting my self eat one treat a week. So, the burger, fries and milkshake from Frankie's were my treat of the week.

And it was worth it, so delicious!

We picked Kelicy up after that. Apparently you can do a pick up on campus with out anyone being suspicious. But then Kelicy told us that while the security guards look intimidating, they are pretty harmless. And she gave us a lanyard so that we would look official.

There was way more stuff in the storage unit then we all remembered so we took with us the stuff that was going to be left in the dorm, and left the stuff that I was going to take with me for us to pick up on our way back. Kelicy then set up the account to be closed in the morning.

We took all of the stuff back to the dorm and managed to unload all of it without a problem. Then I got to catch up with my ladies in their dorm, I also saw a few of my other sisters which was fantastic, I love them so much.

After visiting with them for a while, and then went to see Kellie, who was working in Reeves. She had been there all day so I hoped the company cheered her up.

Angie and I left after that, but we didn't go home. We made a awesome pit stop at Hollywood Studios to ride Rockin Roller Coaster. Angie had told me earlier in the day that she liked Aerosmith so I mentioned the ride and we decided to go for it.

We almost had just as much fun in the parking lot as we did in the park. I totally turned the wrong way so we were driving the wrong direction down a lane, and then I ended up in the cast member parking lot, and then back to where we started. It was a hilarious mess. But we found a close spot finally. It was raining, which was perfect, because going to Disney in the rain is always the best.

Angie hasn't been to Disney since she was little so she was like a little kid in a candy store, it was awesome! My favorite thing is to bring people to the parks who have never been. She was taking pictures of everything, and I had to make sure she kept moving along. I loved it. Here is some pictures that I took:

We only waited 30 minutes for the ride. It was bad ass as usual. Love that ride so much. Angie loved it too, we had a blast. Here is the proof:

We then walked around the park, I thought about having us go on Toy Story Mania but the line was 90 minutes, like always. So instead we just walked around so that Angie could check the park out. She was still taking pictures of everything so it took us a while. It was nice to take the park at a slower pace. Usually we are in a rush to get everything in.

We ended up also going on the Star Tours ride because I told Angie how I had always wanted to ride it but I had never been to the park with anyone who would go with me. The wait was only 10 minutes so we went. We ended up walking right on and it was a blast! It was a great decision.

We left after that, we were tired, and hungry. I made a delicious fruit salad for dinner when we got home.

It was a wonderfully fun day. A great first day off. My next day off is now not until Saturday, but I am ok with that. Bring on the training and the work!
