I Am Feeling The Love!
I got some mail today! My first mail! Woohoo! It was waiting on the kitchen counter for me when I got home. They were all surprises!
I got a post card from my mom and dad from when they were on vacation in California. Then I got a card from one of my team members, Judy! I miss her very much, she is so sweet to send me a card.
My last piece of mail was a post card and a friendship anklet from my two loves, Erica and Colleen.
The post card was from Lake Compounce! I miss them and my Lake family so, so much. I am not allowed to wear anklets at work so I am planning on rocking it as a keychain so that I can carry it with me wherever I go.
After being away for two weeks, feeling very cut off, and missing everyone very much it warmed my heart to get the mail that I did. I teared up a little. Thanks guys, it meant a lot to me.
By the way, I LOVE getting mail, and I should be getting a package or two from my parents in the next week so I am looking forward to that. If anyone wants to send me mail, feel free! You will definitely get a letter or post card in return.

In other news, I have spent the last two days doing site specific register training. It has been super easy (Thank you Lake Compounce). I feel really blessed that I have the experience that I do working with a register and with money. I think the most important thing that I know from working at The Lake is that mistakes can be fixed and things can be redone. So, as long as the drawer is balanced what you ring up doesn't matter right away.
I feel really at ease and have only had to completely learn a few things. Stuff like resort shipping and what to do if an item doesn't have a tag and you can't get the price anywhere.
I have also gotten to know the area more and more, especially learning where all the stock rooms are for the different locations. There are a lot of them. I also got to so some work out at the carts and it turns out that it doesn't feel as alone, or isolated as I thought it would. There is a ton of guest interaction there, which is really nice. I am going to especially like working at the pin cart. I love the pins and every since I got my pin lanyard and have traded with people I have fallen in love with it again.
This afternoon I took my assessment test and passed it with a 100%. Yay! Now I am officially trained and ready to work. Tomorrow is my last day of training, I will be image trained. Which means I will learn how to process and print the photos that people will want to buy coming off of the Buzz Lightyear ride and Space Mountain.
Last night my roommates and I had a really good talk about how we are feeling. It turns out we are still all a little uneasy in our locations. Right now I am feeling how big the place is. I am coming from a job where we had about 50 people in our department and I knew all of them by name and could tell you their major or career and what they did last weekend. We were very close. Here, I have barely met the same person twice, let alone three times. I am constantly seeing a new face wearing the same uniform as me. When I asked how many people were in the department she couldn't even tell me. A few hundred.
Its really nerve wracking because the closeness was what made me love working at Lake Compounce. While I know that I will get to know people eventually, and it has only been three days, I am just worried I won't love it as much.
But talking to my roommates eased my worry because they are all feeling the same way about where they are working. Stuff is being thrown at us really fast and we aren't really getting to know people because we are constantly moving. I was reminded that I worked at Lake Compounce for three summer s before I felt as comfortable as I did. I am so grateful for my roommates, they are awesome. It was such a good talk and I am blessed to have found such good support.
I only have one more day before I am let loose into the area on my own! Eek!
Thanks for reading such a ranty and wordy post :/ Love you!
